Nick Kyrgios had an interesting response about a fan who stated that
Alexander Bublik is ‘better’ than him. The 30-year-old is currently spending time on the sidelines as he continues his recovery from a knee injury that he sustained just before the start of the French Open.
That injury ruled him out of Roland Garros, and most recently, he withdrew from Wimbledon 2025 as well. It will be the 10th occasion in the last 11 Grand Slams where Kyrgios will not be able to participate in a mega-event.
Despite staying out of action for such a long time, Kyrgios remained in the news for making interesting and, at times, controversial comments. Recently, a fan commented on how Bublik is better than Kyrgios. That comment came after Bublik lifted the
Halle Open after beating Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6.
On his way to the final, Bublik defeated world number one Jannik Sinner in the round of 16 with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. A user on the social media platform X, with the name Raghav, posted a comment stating that 'Peak' Bublik is better than 'Peak' Kyrgios. “Peak Bublik is what everyone told us peak ‘Kyrgios’ was going to be. I’m certain he’s gonna upset a top 8 seed in R3 of Wimbledon unless he draws Sincaraz (Jannik Sinner or Alcaraz),” the user wrote.
Kyrgios, who is famous for making controversial comments, surprisingly agreed with the user’s comment and instead stated that he was ‘grateful’ to see Bublik entertain the crowd. Kyrgios also went on to wish Bublik the best of luck. “This is an interesting take,” he wrote. “But again, of course we can’t just appreciate two guys going about it the way they want to. Bublik is fun to watch and I’m grateful for all the entertainment. What a result. Keep going Bublik.”
